MRI

Health Screening

Preparation prior to screening

Health screening can feel a bit stressful if it’s your first time. The process may be different for everyone, depending on what is included in the screening package. It can take 3-4 hours or even a whole morning or afternoon. Here are some important guidelines to help you prepare and get the best results from your screening

MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging

What is an MRI?

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is a diagnostic method that uses the magnetic properties of substances in the body to create detailed images through computer reconstruction. It does not use radiation, making it a non-invasive way to detect changes and identify diseases early.

Test Procedure

  • If you have any metallic or magnetic items, please remove them before the MRI scan.
  • Due to noise during the scan, earplugs and music will be provided. To ensure accurate results, please stay as still as possible during the test.
  • The scan usually takes 20 minutes to over an hour.

When MRI Scans May Not Be Possible

  • MRI scans may not be possible if you have any of the following:
    • Heart surgery (such as a pacemaker or implantable defibrillator)
    • Metal fragments in the eye
    • Metal aneurysm clips in the brain (from brain aneurysm surgery)
    • Claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces)
    • Hearing aids or cochlear implants
    • If you have any of these or similar conditions, please consult with us in advance.
