Health Screening

Preparation prior to screening

Health screening can feel a bit stressful if it’s your first time. The process may be different for everyone, depending on what is included in the screening package. It can take 3-4 hours or even a whole morning or afternoon. Here are some important guidelines to help you prepare and get the best results from your screening

Colonoscopy

Caution

  • If you are taking anticoagulants (e.g., Coumadin, Warfarin), do not stop them on your own. Consult your prescribing doctor and inform the nurse in advance.
  • If you have had brain or heart procedures/surgeries or are currently taking any medications, consult your doctor and notify the nurse in advance.
  • Take blood pressure, heart, thyroid, anticonvulsant, or asthma medications around 5 AM on the day of the screening with a small amount of water.
